“It always surprised me that there was not a DPRK focused podcast on iTunes. Finally one now exists, and this isn’t from some amateur. NK news is regarded by many as the top news site for serious NK watchers and analysts. The best thing is that unlike the website, the podcast has no paywall. (FYI the subscription fee on the website is worth the asking price if watching the North is an obsessive hobby or if you are a professional / academic in the field)
There have been great guests on the show so far. Particularly, former diplomats have interesting experiences to share. Many times covering North Korea can be a guessing game. The guests they have had know their stuff so predictions or comments about what’s going on behind the scenes in North Korea carry some weight and are thought provoking.
I will say this, the podcast may not be for everyone. The uninitiated to North Korean history and culture may have a hard time keeping up. It is assumed that you the listener already have an above average understanding of how North Korea works.
I will be listening from now until the day they shut this off. This is my new favorite podcast.”
