“I got it in my head recently to rewatch the original Friday the 13th, but I was curious to know what other people thought about the movie. Not just the average joe, but movie-watchers who take their pasttime seriously. More specifically, I was curious to find out if anyone else besides hardcore horror fans thought that Ft13th was actually good or not. So I randomly searched the iTunes store for a podcast and was super excited to see a podcast dedicated to not only reviewing the original Friday, but the entire series! My hopes were high and the show itself lived up to those expectations. I immediately became engrossed in the podcast and listened to episdoe after episode. I've since downloaded episodes featuring The Lost Boys, Predator, and others, including the original Karate Kid (notice an 80s movie pattern here?), all of which were just as good if not better than the Friday the 13th Retrospective. This is a great podcast with genuinely interesting people sharing their genuinely interesting opinions and insights into some of my favorite movies. One aspect I'd like to point out, in addition to the podcast being generally enjoyable, is that I was pleased to hear a group of reviewers have energetic, sometimes disagreeable, discussions without any of them talking over each other, constantly interrupting each other, or filling the airtime with uncontrollable untterings of "uh" and "um." That might not sound like much of a review, but it speaks volumes for me and I'm sure there are other listeners who will appreciate the clarity of speech that one can find in Now Playing.”
