Wondering about MTHFR gene mutation
I love this podcast! VERY informative and I love the questions Judy asks her guests. They are very well thought out and are often things I’ve wondered about. I am keto/ somewhat carnivore and it has improved my thyroid imbalance and helped heal pre-diabetes or my high insulin resistance. I see a nurse practitioner that does extensive blood work and prescribes bio identical hormone replacement. According to bloodwork I have the MTHFR gene mutation which from what I understand, means I only absorb methylated forms of B vitamins. I’m sure there is more involved than that but is there a way to get the nutrients I need having this mutation without taking the very expensive supplements that it seems I’m supposed to take for my brain to get the nutrients it needs? I’m somewhat confused on this and wondering if you could address this some.
