Description
Summary: You have, or wish, to put thinking is at the core of math learning for your students. After all, you know that your students can’t construct rich understandings, make meaningful connections, strategically manage problems, and communicate clearly and concisely in math in the absence of thinking, or should I say good thinking. But how can you tell how well your students have learned to think mathematically? How can you help each of your students grow the quality of their thinking in a way that meets their individual learning needs? Come explore a few key assessment practices that will begin to answer these questions for you. Reference will be made to key ideas found in the resource: Assessing Mathematical Thinking: A focus on reasoning competencies (available for purchase) where additional support materials can be found. Live Webinar: OAME members only Oct 12th, 2022, 8PM EST (Register now on MCIS) Podcast notes: Recorded Sept 2022. Laura is the math consultant for The Critical Thinking Consortium and co founder of Flourish Co.
