Too much apologizing
The show is pretty good for the most part. I like the episodes where they interview writers and actors from the show. John Krasinski was the best. And the interview with Ryan and Rainn was really good too. I wish they would bring the guests on for the entire show and not just give us pre-recorded snippets. The show started off really good. And then the apologizing began. Now it’s basically an apology tour for all of the show’s edgy jokes. I know in today’s climate everyone on Twitter is super sensitive. But Office fans are not. Hence, the reasons the show is one of the most watched shows of all time. Office fans are mature, and appreciate inappropriate humor when done right. Being able to laugh at ridiculous behavior or dumb stereotypes is what makes life fun. And to be honest the apology tour is ruining the show for me. One of my friends has already stopped listening to the podcast altogether. If they couldn’t do the show without apologizing, whether it be due to their own griefs, or to protect their careers, why did they even do this podcast in the first place? Lastly, it’s becoming pretty apparent that the hosts are not actual fans of the show, but fans of their old workplace. Which is totally understandable. Their experience in creating the show is going to be completely different than the fans who have fallin in love with the story they created. But this does come across in their delivery and analysis, and can be a little bothersome at times. All in all, it’s an interesting podcast. Three stars.
