A Truly Top-Notch Podcast
I’m not a big watcher of porn, and I have no skin in this game, so to speak. But its pop culture allure and its behind-the-scenes machinations and scandals are undeniably fascinating. Traci Lords was a huge name in my high school years. Even though I’d never seen one of her porn movies (swear to god), I certainly knew who she was. We all did. Backed up by exhaustive research and extensive interviews with witnesses, the “porn noir” unfolding in this exquisitely crafted podcast is deliciously told by the hosts and the firsthand accounts of the players who were actually there during the period in question. Color me thoroughly entertained, fully hooked and very eager for the next episode. (For what it’s worth... I wish Traci participated. History shows that people who embrace their pasts, however checkered, without shame and without trying to control every piece of the narrative, fare much better and end up in a much better place with it.)
