In this episode we hear from Dr Tyson Yunkaporta, author of Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World. He is an academic, arts critic, and researcher who belongs to the Apalech Clan in far north Queensland. Tyson carves traditional tools and weapons and works as a senior lecturer in Indigenous Knowledges at Deakin University, Melbourne. We yarn about Indigenous perspectives on food, respecting Indigenous Knowledge and Law, abundance and scarcity, western neoliberal paradigms, addressing inequality as a social problem, the 'Murray Antoinette syndrome', fostering emergence, acting as custodians, Indigenous governance, intergenerational equity, letting go of hope and taking back agency.
