Hmm
Just listened to the interview with Boris Johnson, who we know is notoriously difficult to interview. Overall, quite a good job done in the circumstances but still very disappointed that the podcast let him get away with his boast of ‘fastest covid vaccine rollout ‘ as an alleged Brexit benefit. My career involved over 20 years application of pharmaceutical regulation, so I know this is a lie but if you don’t believe me, Google it and you will find BBC footage of June Raine of the MCA specifically confirming that the UK’s approval of the covid vaccine was done under the EU’s own pharmaceutical regulation. And there were several articles clarifying the law at the time mostly from outraged pharmaceutical lawyers. The lie was known for a lie at the time and at least back in those days the BBC and MCA did their best to counter it. Even though I understand how difficult it is to get facts to pierce the slippery ex-PM’s hide, there is a duty to the public not to allow well known lies to be left as the last word on the podcast - clarifying the facts could and should have been done as part of the wrap up.
