I’m leaving this message after the Nations League Final. I’ve been a USMNT fan since ‘94 and live for the team. Mark - unfortunately the game you had was a rough one with some high profile mistakes. But that only makes me a bigger fan of yours and pull for you that much harder. I work as a cardiologist and have been put in many difficult situations with sick and dying patients. The stakes are high and especially during my training, sometimes I made correct decisions but in some situations, I made decisions that led to bad outcomes for patients and their families. I would feel guilt and shame but more than anything, I would channel those bad outcomes into learning more and more about the heart and different heart diseases so that I would never be caught off-guard by a patient’s clinical situation. Although I don’t know you, I feel that hearing you regularly on the pod, gives me a sense that you will do the same thing - keep honing your craft and make yourself the CB beast we all know you will be.
