“3 stars because the overall story and world building are very engaging. The author has serious potential. It does, however, suffer from some significant flaws: 1) Women are marginalized: All the main characters are men, and although I’m in episode 6, there have only been token women who never do anything meaningful or significant. 2) The author is the product of the crappy US education system, and he constantly chooses words without knowing what they mean. For example, carts get “dissembled” and episodes are “editions.” He also gets his tenses wrong and is inconsistent in his plurals. The total effect is somewhat irritating. He’d benefit from asking someone to read over his text before publishing. He has obvious creative potential, so he’d do his career a favour if he checked out a few books on writing and grammar. 3) He’d also benefit from more practice with the mic. His reading is exceptionally breathy, almost like he’s whispering, so he looses a great deal of emotional range. I’m confident that he has it in everyday life, and by Episode 6 he’s improved somewhat, so I hope he continues to improve.”
