Rick Cosgrove from Sō Labs on unconventional design and keeping it funky
Listen now
Description
This week we take a quick trip to funky town, with Sō Labs co-founder Rick Cosgrove as our tour guide. Rick talks us through his influences and the challenges he’s come across so far, but mostly we talk about the watches. Sō Labs is a young Chicago-based brand with an unconventional design proposition. Layers. Layers and colours. The traditional layout of hands and numbers isn’t a part of Sō Labs design language; instead, the brand uses a series of colourful shapes to create a layered effect that is surprisingly intuitive but also not like anything else you’d see on the market. Novel looks will only get you so far, so it's fortunate that the brand has the build quality to back it up.
