The story follows a group of adventurers—Laios, a human swordsman; Chilchuck, a halfling locksmith; and Marcille, an elven spellcaster—who fail to slay a red dragon, resulting in the dragon consuming Laios' sister, Falin, a human spellcaster. Determined to rescue her before digestion, they must return to the dungeon without their supplies. Laios proposes they survive by eating dungeon monsters, an idea reluctantly accepted by the group. Inside, they meet Senshi, a dwarf skilled in cooking and surviving on dungeon resources.
