Refreshing Change and Fasinating
This was such a refreshing and fascinating change from the true crime podcasts I’ve listened to before. There were no descriptions of someone being hacked or shot to death, and it is clear that the podcast team (which fittingly seemed to be made up mostly of Greeks) exhaustively researched this subject. This was not a fly-by-night operation. Apparently the research and production took more than a year of work. I lost count of how many people were interviewed, but it had to have been dozens; one of them was a former prime minister of Greece. One of the best parts of the podcast was that it puts the crimes of Paleokostas in the context of Greek society and culture so that we non-Greeks can understand why he is held in such high esteem by a significant portion of the population. It does so without being one-sided - the opposite view (that Paleokostas is a criminal, or even a terrorist) of the police and other authority figures is presented clearly and more than once. Finally, the first time I heard one of the Greek members of the team speak I almost drove off the road because she sounded exactly like Alicia Vikander. Dangerous driving aside, I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast and would listen to almost anything this team produced.

More reviews of OUTLAWS: The Good Thief
Miles did an amazing job of leading me down a path while not giving too much away, as some narrators can, with inflection. Warm, well spoken, and still elusive enough to keep the mystery. The story was well written and turned corners I did not expect. Fantastic! Thank all of you involved.
