“I have listened for a year to this podcast, love Cher and Nicola together, and have really improved my skin care regime and found many of the guests fascinating and informative. The latest series does seem to be full of quacks, and people with lots to say and not a lot to back it up. I am an NHS GP, and also do some private work, and one thing I cannot stand is guests and Nicola slagging off the NHS because they won’t do laser for thread veins, and refer everyone to a dermatologist next week for a skin consultation. I love skincare and beauty, but this is simply not a good use of NHS money. Dermatologists are treating people with skin cancers, scarring from accidents or congenital malformations, dealing with horrendous disease, and yes they do manage acne, and most do private work on the side I don’t see how you could ever suggest money be taken from a crumbling NHS to prioritise you and your “glow”. I am a GP who specialises in menopause/HRT also, and “getting your hormones tested” in your mid 30s (discussed on this weeks podcast) is a complete waste of money, and should not be funded by the NHS, no matter how you feel about it. Feel free to spend all you like on private “specialists” but please stop trying to dictate NHS spending, and why your skin is more important than some else’s serious life threatening illness.”
