You are experiencing pain, but when the doctor uses this machine, it says you are not in pain… who do you believe? Devin’s answer - I stepped in the machine, I know I am in pain, so why would I believe this machine? The interesting part is that the doctor who is helping me will not believe that I am in pain Luke’s answer - I would trust the machine, why should I trust my own brain? (Luke's point intentionally oversimplified, to make this dichotomy more epic on paper) Dean's answer - The machine will likely be trusted..
