Description
1)       In our locality, each household brings their garbage to a central waste-point. Our non-Jewish cleaner will normally take a bag of garbage on her way home at the end of each day. May she do so on Shabbos? [1] 2)       A family owns a caravan, which they use several times a year. Otherwise, it is parked in their driveway. One daughter uses the caravan regularly for her music practise. Does this caravan have to have a Mezuzah? The pews in our ladies Shul are infected with woodworm and we plan to replace them. May the disused furniture be used as firewood? [2] 3)      I opened a separate savings account in which I place Maaser-money. The account attracts interest. To whom does that extra belong: the Tzedoko or myself? [3] 4)      I’m davening in an airport. If I face Yerusholayim I will be disturbed by passers-by. Is it permissible to choose to face a different direction instead?[4] 5)       At Mincha on Thursday, 17th of Tammuz, we had four men who were still fasting. Were we able to: a) do Krias haTorah; b) have the Chazan say Aneinu?[5] 6)       My work is in a hot kitchen. I won’t manage without drinking. Do I fast or do I do my job?[6] 7)       May our non-Jewish staff come in to work on the morning of Tisha b’Av?[7] 8)      A doorway that has no posts, just the corners of the walls:[8] 9)      It is our custom that the man who has Chazak also verbalizes חזק חזק ונתחזק.
