Listen with a side of Ben Shapiro
I have listened to Sarah and Beth for at least a couple years. To all the women who think you’re getting balance or nuance here...newsflash...you aren’t getting much. This is a podcast between two friends who are both very left leaning. Beth just talks in a kinder tone than Sarah. Only recently did Beth admit that had the things that were/are occurring in Afghanistan occurring under Trump, she’d be extremely upset. Thanks, finally, for that. Sarah’s take? “At least Trumps not in office and that makes the Afghanistan stuff easier to take.” What does that even mean? It’s insulting to those of us who are military families, regardless of our political affiliation. Sarah mocks anyone she disagrees with (including the few listeners who leave reviews complaining that she and Beth essentially agree with one another 98% of the time, thus, no “nuance”.) They can do what they want, it’s their podcast. But please leave terms like “nuance” and “grace” out of it. I couldn’t believe it in January, on one of their episodes (I think it was on inflation) Sarah literally stated that “she didn’t know anyone who was going to be affected by Walmart’s prices going up”. News flash for Sarah-not all your listeners can shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. If you were getting real nuance, you’d be hearing actual studies and stats from the cdc cited about children masked in schools, SOUNDBITES from actual politicians would be played. You’d be hearing all of our concerns addressed about what is clearly a president who is in declining health, and who slurs his words like my grandfather did after three mini strokes, the full blown police brutality occurring in Melbourne Australia, the fact that there are still Americans in Afghanistan who want to get out (my brother is a US Army Ranger who served 2 tours there and assisted with the disastrous pull-out) and, last but not least, NATURAL IMMUNITY. Those of us who have received medical treatment that was later deemed unnecessary want to know, why do we need to get the jab when we already sustained a full blown infection and blood tests prove our immunity? Instead, these ladies are talking about...kids in sports...and parliamentary systems....like??? If Don Jr was running around with hookers like Hunter Biden is, throwing handguns in the trash, lying all over the place, you had better bet that Sarah would bring it up in every flipping episode. I love to listen to the other side. But there are plenty of podcasts (conservative podcasts even) that do a way better job than this at nuance. Ben Shapiro and Allie Stuckey cite studies, interview guests who are pro lgbtq and who disagree with them on many issues, and play actual soundbites from the statements that they are critiquing. If you want nuance, listen to one of these podcasts ALONGSIDE Pantsuit Politics. Because I’m fairly convinced that the only reason for the 5 star reviews is the fact that Beth makes a really pretty word salad out of Sarah’s negativity and downright nastiness and can make even the most upsetting things sound as though they’re being thoughtfully analyzed. And for that alone, I’m giving three stars. Three stars for pretty word salad, but I’d give zero for nuance. Ya’ll won’t find that here. ✌️ It’s refreshing to hear Sarah say that she doesn’t consider a fetus a person, after many episodes about the “complexity” she feels on this issue. Finally we know at least where she really stands, and I feel the need for her to be consistent has pushed her here. The “personally pro life, politically pro choice” position Beth takes is also disturbing. Do you think we’d tolerate anyone who was “personally anti racist” but “politically pro discrimination”?

I've been listening for about 3 months now and eagerly await each new episode. While I lean left, I consider myself a moderate and rarely disagree with either of the 2 hosts. Their thoughtful, reasonable and informed discussions of politics and current events is a welcome break from the...Read full review »
