“I’m not talking about the production and acting, they’re highly professional. At first I thought this podcast was meant to be a satire of the ridiculous things people believe these days, and how people make wild guesses or tenuous connections and call them “evidence.” (See the Trials of Frank Carson podcast for real-life examples.) But no, it seems that they’re asking us to take the protagonist’s desperate investigation seriously. It’s all going to lead to some outrageous conspiracy. This is cheap at best and irresponible at worst in these credulous times. I expected better from Janina Matthewson. Another example of media that caters to our worst impulses for clicks. (Sorry Janina, if you’re aiming for satire, this misses the mark.)”
