Description
THE SPEAR OF DESTINY I am often asked how our book SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE: The Spear of Destiny in History & Legend (co-authored with George Piccard) differs from THE SPEAR OF DESTINY by Trevor Ravenscroft. There are many differences. His book was a very New Age religious book with initiation in the occult as its core feature: his personal initiation, Adolf Hitlerâ??s initiation, and by extension, the reader's. He spends most of the book on the past lives of the Nazi inner core. His contention was that they were involved in using the Spear of Destiny for black magic in the eleventh century -- that they were reincarnations of the people who were the models for the characters in Parsifal. I won't waste the listener's time with such nonsense, but I can cover what the Nazi inner core did with the Spear, what their fascination with it was and the various occult and neo-pagan movements it grew out of. I can also cover the seldom-mentioned homosexual foundations of the Third Reich Aldolf may have been a Nancy surrounded by leather boys Also, Ravenscroft got a number of his "facts" wrong, which we corrected. We also covered much more of the Spear's history and legend than he did. We went beyond the end of WWII into the tale that the real Spear was actually hidden in Antarctica from 1945 to 1979. Our book begins and ends in 1979 because if that portion of the legend is true then the Spear of Destiny is not an object on display in some museum, or holed up in some church, but is actually an active player on the world's stage. Are Fourth Reich Nazis Occultists in possession of it today? We also showed that the object in Vienna, which was the subject of Ravenscroft's book, is but one of several objects claimed to be the real Spear that pierced the side of Jesus. We can look at each of these objects in turn. The two areas from this book that I enjoy talking about on air the most are Constantine's vision which altered the course of Western Civilization with his conversion to Christianity and subsequent convening of the Council of Nicaea that founded the Universal (Catholic) Church; and Admiral Byrd's 1946-47 Antarctic expedition, Operation Highjump, with 13 ships (including an air craft carrier and a submarine) and 3,500 Marines in full battle gear, that may have been an attempt to locate and engage a Nazi military base in Neuschwabenland (German Antarctica) â?? and, of course, that base and the stories of Nazi UFOs and supersubs used to supply and defend it. Did the Nazis build disk shaped aircraft? Could that be what crashed outside of Roswell, New Mexico, in 1946?
