Faux outrage
The show itself is great. What I don’t understand is the commenter below that is mad because two random upper middle class 50 year old dudes aren’t well versed on sex trafficking. What a bizarre time to live in. It would be awesome if we could get back to not owing anyone anything…because, uhhh…we don’t. We’re all just trying to live our OWN lives. It’s not my job to like you. Its not my job to support your cause. It’s not my job to speak how you think is ‘appropriate.’ On one hand you say these guys are clueless…but then claim they are nefariously providing a ‘shield’ so maniacs can destroy the earth. Calm. Down. Guy. 99.99% of the human population is anti-trafficking. We don’t need to carry a sign or have a secret handshake to show we’re in that club. These two 50-year old degos have daughters in elementary school…you think they’re pro-trafficking? I know commenters like this think they are furthering a cause and they mean well, in general. But it kinda seems like the only tangible fruits of your ‘labor’ end up taking the form of steering potential simple, solution-oriented conversations right off a cliff. This is a slippery slope that we find ourselves on, in terms of productive social discourse. If you are wired to think that any mention of the most heinous social ills without including the verbiage that YOU prefer is somehow co-signing the act itself…maybe try instead looking at the world through the lens that the odds of YOU being the most knowledgeable and righteous living entity in whatever room you happen to be in are actually pretty low. Grandstand accordingly. It’s COMEDY. They are two guys that got rich telling jokes and haven’t worked a ‘real’ job in 20 years. They deserve it, because unique talent is a unique commodity…but you can’t take offense when they make fun of blue collar work, because they don’t know any different. Pete’s rant on teachers, for instance: If they wheeled this dude into an inner-city public school and said “Ok, 8 hours, good luck”…he would view teaching in 2024 VERY differently. But it’s good that some people get to still exist in that bubble. Not such a bad thing.

I think Sebastian Maniscalco is the best stand-up comedian today. And Pete is the best goddamn boat act you'll ever see. (Kidding Pete, i've done worse jobs for less money.) Together they put on an entertaining show. Sebastian gives a first hand look into what it's like living the...Read full review »
