If I could give 0 stars I would
I’ll admit I only listened to one episode and not even all the way through. I couldn’t get any further. The episode I listened to was the Cuties film review. So many problems. Host talks about having no notes - yes, you can tell. It’s rambling to begin with, with the phrase “First of all” said about 3 times and the host continually asking “Have you watched this?”. I can forgive this in a podcast however if the content is good. She completely lost me when she admitted she could enjoy a film even if it was purposefully sexualising children. Wtf. She apparently couldn’t take 2 minutes to Google anything about Islam, despite that being a huge plot point of the film. Or be bothered to learn how to pronounce the name of the woman who wrote the film. I came to listen because I find the discussion around this film interesting but this host just seems to have no real clue of how to discuss this kind of topic within a film - which is fine, just don’t base a whole episode around doing exactly that.
