Description
Tonight Keith talks to brave teen Orla O'Farrell who is battling leukemia. She posted an open letter to Leo Varadkar over the weekend after being denied a medical card which would have covered her medical costs, which could go into the thousands because her father's income is slightly above the threshold. She said, "Why is a 19 year old girl being given added stress over this when she already has enough stress about living with a life threatening illness? Why am I being punished for having cancer? And lastly, why is my life not important enough for them to help me?". Should medical cards be given to those with life threatening diseases? Should it be free for under 25's? And are there some people who shouldn't be given medical cards?
