"Keith I was listening to your news earlier and heard that the nurses are planning on going on strike? About 40,000 of them or so?! It’s crazy, do they not care about the public they are meant to be helping? I get people have to stand up for their rights and know that nurses deal with really bad conditions and long hours, but we’re in the middle of one of the worst hospital crisis we’ve ever seen. Everyday you hear about overcrowding, people forced to wait hours to be seen in A&E and people sleeping on trolleys in hallways. I don’t mean to be bad, but nurses should be treated like the gardaí and not allowed go on strike. Their job is to important to the public. Imagine if your child gets very sick, or your elderly grandmother has an accident and there’s no one to see to help them? People’s lives depend on nurses, they are far too important to be allowed go on strike and I really think they shouldn’t be allowed go on strike.
