Well, it took 25 episodes, but we finally got a NIC CAGE MOVIE. And a great Nic Cage movie at that. Jessica Jean Jardine (Kar Dishin’ It podcast, UCB Harold Night’s The Dragons) and Dan Lippert (Teacher’s Lounge podcast, UCB’s Big Grande and Winslow) were perfect guests to help recreate performances by so many actors just fighting each other to chew the scenery.

LOOK WHAT WE DID, YOU LITTLE JERK! A podcast! Finally! John Hume, Shane Spiegel and Valerie Wakefield (Free Puppies improv) do a very off the rails version of the Christmas classic ‘Home Alone’. Great movie. John makes a BIG choice in how he portrays Pesci. Valerie gets attacked relentlessly for trying to do the movie correctly. Shane (Spiegel) makes Kevin a horndog. And I let it all happen, in fact, I encourage it.

I never thought I’d ever see and then recreate Jennifer Lopez’s thriller ‘Enough’ for my show. I also never thought I could be scared an episode of this podcast was too racy. But then Jesse Esparza and Julian Gonzalez (Extra Extra podcast) came on the show and made me look a fool.

Playing Favorites welcomes Katelyn Hempstead (Lizard People podcast, Kid Scissors improv), Ben Dietzel & Alexis Preston (Kid Scissor improv), Julia Zimmerman and Grant Martz. We have decided to embark on a recreation of ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’. All is well. And yet I can't help wondering about scenes we forgot.  'There are always possibilities' Spock said.

This is a podcast about a story about boy meets girl. The guest , Taylor Cox of Amazon’s ‘Just Add Magic’, grew up believing that she'd never truly get her ‘500 Days of Summer’ DVD out of her computer. The other guest, Alex Franklin of Trust The Bachelor Process podcast, did not share this problem cause she’s less of a fan. And the other guest, Ray Gordon of Dog Years podcast, enjoyed the movie in a frat house.

Prima donna. That’s not only how Larry the cameraman describes Phil Connors in ‘Groundhog Day’ but also how I would describe each member of Funk Shuffle (Michael Gardner, Danny Cymbal and Dennis Curlett). JK LOL. These guys are a f*****g hoot and half and were perfect for this crazy movie. We discuss parental censorship, WW1, ‘Groundhog Day’ actually being ‘The Truman Show’, Stephen Tobolowsky’s greatness, ‘Blank Check’ and unfortunately, Bill Murray probably being not the best guy.

Some people might still think ‘Clueless’ is a shallow chick flick. As if! Emily Durrett, Hannah Garces and Elizabeth Guest (Fresh Hell improv) come on the show to share their love of Amy Heckerling’s classic 90’s hit. Together we discuss Wallace Shawn’s versatility, Elizabeth’s mature childhood, Paul Rudd’s dreaminess & the downfall of Stacey Dash. Then the 4 of us almost flawlessly recreate this hilarious movie, narration included! Oh my god, I’m totally buggin’.

‘Hot Rod’ is a perfect encapsulation of The Lonely Island’s humor. You’re either in or you’re out. Thankfully, Amanda Bonar, Jimmy Kehoe and Cory Webster (Dick Cannon improv) are all in. After discussing our mutual love this movie, the fantastic performances, early Lonely Island days and the word ‘Hoobastank’, Dick Cannon and Shane try their best to recreate the nonsensicalness. Cool beans?

I was waiting for the day that ‘The Parent Trap’ would be on the podcast and I should have known the awesome sisters behind Trust The (Bachelor) Process podcast, Alex and Sarah Franklin, would be the ones to bring it on! We discuss the talent of young Lindsay Lohan, getting bullied for being redheaded, the insanity of the parents, and,  most controversially, Chessy’s (with a ‘CH’) real name (it’s Chessica). Then Shane and them Franklin girls whip tush at recreating it. Ohhh, ice woman.

As a gift for Father’s Day, I thought the best thing I could do is have my father, Joe Lennon, and my uncle/godfather, Kipp Lennon, on my podcast to discuss and recreate what is probably the greatest, most-rewatch-rewarding movie ever made, ‘The Godfather.’ This movie is an obsession of my family, so having my dad and my uncle on was perfect. We discuss the heaviness of every scene, getting sucked into reruns, the relatability of murderers and why this is the best movie ever.

Boom baby! Rachel Chapman, Clare Loughran and Oscar Montoya (Inside the Disney Vault podcast) come on the show to talk Disney's David Spade vehicle 'The Emperor's New Groove'. We discuss Disney entry points, Disney's non-musicals, cheap animation and David Spade of course. Then the 4 of them attempt to recreate an animated film for the first time and realize cartoons have a lot of crazy exposition. Pull the lever, Kronk.

“Real man, real.” That’s not just what guitarist Russell Hammond of Stillwater wants in life; that’s how Julia Meltzer (Honey, UCB Harold Night) and I would describe our love for Cameron Crowe’s ‘Almost Famous’. Attempting the first solo guest spot on the show, the two of us talk secretly cool moms, Cameron Crowe’s downfall, fantastic performances, the classic rock genre and everyday quote usage. Then the 2 of us embark on the recreation, of which we earned many, many checkmarks.

Hey, you blockheads! Unless you're a heartless monster, you have to love 'The Sandlot.' I was so happy to happy Dennis Curtlett, Conner McCabe and Cara Meyers (UCB improv) all come on and share our affection for this childhood baseball classic. We discuss the sex appeal of the gang members, road trip screenings, favorite lesser-lesser quoted lines and unfortunately, the sad lives of child actors. Then we do a pretty spot on job recreating this sucker. Listen to it 120...173 times!

"How often does this once-in-a-lifetime wave come along?" This question  Mitchell 'Goose' Goosen asks in the extreme rollerblading movie 'Airborne' could be a question about the movie itself. This special film isn't one that many know, but thankfully, writing duo Craig Gerard and Matt Zinman (How I Met Your Mother, A to Z, Trial & Error) know and love it as much as I do.

The Producers was an glaring gap in my Mel Brooks knowledge. Thankfully, Seth Brown and Danny Jacobs (The Understudies improv) love it so much, I finally got to see it! We discuss the great performances, missing DVDs in box sets, an unfortunate day for Danny in a teen sex comedy and the Toy Story 64 game. Then the 3 of us do our best to reenact this beloved film, and boy does Seth really shine (while Danny and I just try and keep up). I'm in pain and I'm wet and I'm hysterical!

Teen pregnancy. Fat-shaming. Terrible mothers. Back tattoos. Cheetos. These things and much more are all themes of the pre-Shonaverse Shonda Rhimes'/ pre-mental breakdown Britney Spears' mess, 'Crossroads'. Alex Franklin and Tim Zientek (Mayerday improv) come on the show to discuss our love of Brtiney, Tim's loving Dad, Big Little Lies similarities, Shonda, the savageness of Kim Cattrall and prenatal nutrition.

C'mon, how can you not love Star Wars? Patrick Ehlers and Mark Mitchell (Nintendo Cartridge Society podcast) come on the show to discuss how Star Warshas always been a part of their lives, the TRUE title to this movie, 'Ham' Solo, how nerds became mainstream, seeing the prequels and those godforsaken special editions. Then the three of us reenact the film and are surprised how often they forget the order.

Going into this, I thought I was going to be the only one who really nerded out deeply on this film. But then, Dickie Copeland and Joel Jensen (UCB Harold Night's The Dragons) out-nerded me and it was all love after that. 'The Return Of The King' is a big movie, so get ready for a big episode! Join us as we discuss our favorite extended edition discs, Legolas's dumb observations, hot men, the tear-inducing power of friendship and the quick, yet powerful yell from a fugly Orc.

Alright, campers; we got a good one for you today. Noah Findling & Kristen Zublin (My Mom's Minivan improv) come on the show to discuss the Judd Apatow summer camp classic 'Heavyweights'. We discuss Paul Feig's style, bad basketball skills, fat-shaming, but mostly we talk about Noah's perfect camp life. Then the 3 of us do our best recreate the film via Kristen's perfect Stiller accent and Noah's insistence on playing Lars as a Nazi. This podcast is dedicated to Seymour...Seymour Butts!...

*AOL BOOTUP SOUND* Remember that? Crazy right? Well if you don't remember, don't worry: Ryan Kelly Coil and Ellie Race-Moore (Summerland Improv) bring us the Nora Ephron rom-com/cultural artifact 'You've Got Mail'. We discuss Ryan's incredible obsession with the film, Tom Hanks throwaway line reads, unrealistic amicable breakups, Steven Zahn's genius, being withholding, and young Chris Messina.

I've always hated this movie. So when Sarah Franklin (Under The Top Part Of The Boat) and Ryan Middledorf (Cheers, Stomps and Whistles, Under The Top Part Of Boat) suggested it, I was not looking forward to sitting through the 3 and a half hour, overhyped and overrated, Oscar juggernaut that is James Cameron's 'Titanic'. But nevertheless, we had a blast!

The movie that inspired all of this. Will Lennon (Cinema Eye Honors, documentaries) and Ian T. McFarland (editor) join me in my matched teenage love for 'Garden State', the movie that made us feel and understand art. We discuss the soundtrack that changed our lives, Xanga, unfortunate rewatches after growing up, under the blanket hand stuff and of course, Tickle.

"IMMORTALITY! Take it; it's yours!" That Brad Pitt line is what we are striving for here at Playing Favorites. Well, we tried our best. Patrick Kang and Michael Levin (Trial And Error) come on and discuss Pitt's insane bod, Homer's IMDB credits, childhood viewings in Philadelphia and why everyone in Greece has a British accent. Then the 3 buddy guys attempt to recreate and improvise this historical tale, despite Patrick's insistence in telling instead of doing.

Huzzah! The first real episode of Playing Favorites! Of course I had to start it with my homegirls Talia Bernstein (What The F**k Do I Do With My Jewish Hair?!) and Sarah Franklin (Under The Top Part Of The Boat), who are both on the WhatsaCreative network and have long podcast names. Our maiden voyage is the Kirsten Dunst cheerleader classic 'Bring It On'. We discuss the overall great vibe of the film, its pitfalls with now very un-PC language, and the movie's demographic.
