Lots of potential but ultimately disappointing
I’ve been looking for a podcast that discusses Pan African issues and was mostly disappointed. After listening to the first episode of season two I couldn’t help but thinking: “oh, this is a podcast by a couple Nigerians mostly about Nigeria.” The episode was meant to catch people up on the news of the last few months, and the presenters somehow spent over ten minutes discussing education reform in a Nigerian province. There was no mention of the Kenyan election, which was arguably one of the biggest news stories of the last few months. Might as well just call the podcast “pod save Nigeria - listen to a couple Nigerian expats talk about a homogenous Africa”. I was especially disappointed when the presenter admitted to not even knowing all the countries in Africa - erroneously stating 57, as well as laughing about not knowing the Comoros were even a country. Typical Nigerian arrogance. Very disappointing considering the potential for a fascinating pan-African discussion.
