“It pains me to write this, as PAPN used to be be my favorite sports podcast, but since Bill left and Bud Elliott, in part, replaced him, the quality of the podcast tanked. I listened to PAPN because it had a unique blend of statistical analysis, X’s and O’s breakdowns, and insider knowledge, none of which Bud Elliott provides. Instead, every episode with him devolves into First Take-level analysis in which his eye test counts for more than any statistical aptitude or scouting ability. More than once, he has genuinely said “team X ain’t played nobody”, the very line of “analysis” that the podcast’s title mocks. Essentially, the addition of Bud Elliott to the podcast completely ruins the entire project because he embodies the exact type of terrible analysis for which the podcast originally countered.”
