Andy Gibb: Our Everlasting Love
Listen now
Description
After three years of requests from listeners, it's finally here -- the PCPS's tribute to one of the biggest teen idols of the Gen X era, Andy Gibb. He was our everything, our everlasting love, and today's episode will introduce his story and delve into his music with the blessing of Andy Gibb's only child, Peta Gibb Weber. From his beginning as a mischievous child in England and Australia to his lightning fast ascension to the top of the charts, we'll dig into both his contribution to our culture and his true humanity as a husband, father, son and little brother. Kristin is Fangirl #1 as we begin our research but Carolyn and Michelle are quickly converted (is it possible to develop a crush on someone who is no longer with us? Just ask Carolyn) and together they revisit the songs from his first album, finding music that might sound even better today than it did in 1977. Andy Gibb's story is not all teen idol dreams, though; and we are not afraid to hold his complicated legacy gently while honoring our own childhood memories. Join us for what we hope will be an honest and loving tribute to not just a childhood hero but also a truly gifted musician and entertainer. Visit the Official Andy Gibb website here.
