Very informative and constantly improving
Generally gives great insight into smaller, lesser known conflicts that are not covered by mainstream media, often featuring people who have been on the ground and close to the conflict. Loses a single star because the podcasts are generally conservatively edited and unorganized. A lot of pauses, “uhm”, and questions that are not always relevant. This might also have to do with ill-prepared guests, however. It seems like this has gotten better lately. Particularly, the Nagorno-Karabakh podcast had a great flow to it! Jake is an interesting host, often able to weave some of his own stories as a journalist into the podcast, creating an all-around more interesting listening experience. Glad to listen to someone with a bit of personality.

Jake brings much needed attention to the world’s many conflicts and presents stories with passion and empathy. Definitely a must listen for anyone with an interest in militaries, revolutions, and what needs to be resolved for there to be a more peaceful world.

From the first episode, I was hooked. One my weekly rotation of podcast, each episode has an interesting subject matter.
