Get On The Slab
Post Mortem came up in a conversation with a friend when he told me there was a great interview with Ti West on here. My interest in horror is a very narrow scope, but after I listened to the very first episode, this show has been running almost non-stop on my devices. This is a great show for lovers of ALL films, not just horror. The reason being that host Mick Garris is not only a filmmaker himself, but he’s a wonderful interviewer and a knowledgeable film historian. Mick allows his guests to roam in their conversations, but is quick to interject some context so that the listener is always included in the conversation. Whether he’s bringing in some cinematic nomenclature or clarifying the person in the subject of discussion, but it’s done so gracefully that the conversation never gets off track. I have learned so much from listening to this show, and discovered so many interesting filmmakers and their work. And as much as I love Mick’s interviews, I think I enjoy his AMA episodes with Producer (pizza) Joe even more. Do yourself a favor and get on the slab!

Every episode is a fascinating jaunt into the genre that brings me...Read full review »

I could listen to Mick Garris talk about movies all day. Having heard him interviewed on other podcasts, I knew he was an engaging storyteller but he's also a great interviewer. He is able to get good answers from guests, ask the right questions, and unlike many podcast hosts doesn't talk...Read full review »
