Great format…
I have to say thank you for the Postcards from Italy Podcast. It is an inspiring format, and the best one I have found to support Italian learning… fun, easy listening, and diving into the culture and idioms of the bella lingua. I have been learning Italian for a year and 5 months using Duolingo. After 5 months, we went to Sicily, and I got by and had some simple conversations with people who complimented me, an English guy (we are renowned for being monolingual!), on how well I was getting on with the language. I have carried on, and watch some Italian TV, Carlo Gracco’s “Dinner Club” being a favourite, and as I continue my language journey, I am understanding more of the conversations they have. But I was still more worried about speaking the language. This podcast has given me the confidence that I have the ability to speak and understand the spoken language better. A superb compliment to intensive learning and fun too!

I’ve completed the first section of Italian on Duolingo, and I could barely pick out or understand more than one or two words at a time in this podcast. How disappointing for me, I feel like I’ve wasted so many hours on Duolingo and I can’t understand anything in this “beginners podcast.”
