Honest conversation, breadth, and humour
This really is the show I wish was around when I worked in book publishing. This reflects the conversations after work and two beers, but with the platform and honesty to say it in public, not to be forgotten as griping the next day. As is regularly pointed out in the program, it is possible to both be critical of an industry and adore it. Print Run strikes a pleasant balance by providing a lot of laughs and examining timely pub issues from two different tastes and takes. The importance of social consciousness they present is refreshing and still under-emphasized in the field as a whole. Very pleased to have found a show that considers so many perspectives: writers, publishers, agents, booksellers, and critics. Even happier to have a show that I truly find entertaining and a joy to listen to.* *I fully expect Erik to tear apart this sentence structure as well as the rest of my grammatical errors.

I could happily listen to Erik and Laura talk for an hour about gas station coffee. That they take up books and agenting and the scary world of publishing is just a bonus.

I enjoy hearing about what’s going down in publishing, but often Erik takes up a lot of the talking time. I’d love to hear more balance.

The agents on this podcast are self-reflective, smart, transparent and seem to be wanting to present differently for BIPOC writers.
