"Merging Vets and Players" Helps Veterans and Professional Athletes Transition Back To Civilian Life
Listen now
Description
Being a "Proud American" means helping others overcome adversity whenever we have the ability to, and perhaps nothing is more American than the team pride we have as sports fans. Those who strive to become elite in their discipline, and become a professional athlete, carry the weight of a city, state or even country on their shoulders. However, nothing lasts forever, and many athletes struggle when they retire from professional sports, something they have in common with the men and women who serve in our military. In this episode, Marine Corps Veteran and Proud American Johnny Joey Jones introduces us to Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer, and Army Green Beret, and former Texas Longhorn and Seattle Seahawks football player Nate Boyer, who founded Merging Vets and Players to allow veterans and professional athletes to help guide one another through the struggle that is transitioning back in to civilian life.
