Misleading title
I get that they’re trying to make a pun with the title but just a heads up to anyone actually interested in psychoanalytic theory or psychoanalytic film theory, this show doesn’t provide that. It’s essentially just talking about movies and personal lives with your basic milquetoast self help industrial complex jargon thrown in. It has nothing to do with psychoanalysis or even film criticism in general. I never write reviews but just wanted to let people know who are coming to this with an interest in learning more about psychoanalysis, this is the furthest thing from it. It’s a bummer too because a podcast critiquing horror films from a Freudian or Lacanian perspective sounds pretty cool.

More reviews of Psychoanalysis
Hello, I haven’t listened yet but I would like to know if you are using the term psychoanalysis to refer to actual psychoanalytic theory or you are just using it to say ‘background reasons’ as to why. Please let me know if your therapist is an actual psychoanalyst. Thanks

As a horror hound, I’ve always thought of horror movies as therapeutic. While talking about “self-care”, I often find myself de-stressing with watching a horror movie. I’m excited to see where the series goes and what topics/films will be discussed Horror Heals!! -Miggy

I’m not someone who watches a ton of horror movies, but that doesn’t matter. The enthusiasm and expertise of the hosts is extremely welcoming, even if you’re not a huge horror fan. It’s extremely easy to get on board with this thoughtful and funny podcast. Can’t wait for more!
