“Hi guys,
I’ve been a fan of your podcast for several years now, as I became aquatinted with your work during seminary. I’m a 2015 MDIV alum of Iliff School of Theology.
In my first appointment, I listened weekly for several months with crippling guilt that I could not support the show financially. After my first run through the lectionary, I moved towards written commentaries in my study time. Now, I’m serving 3 churches with a commute in between and find your show an inspiration again, as the options for local radio are almost all conservative. I miss the quippy bits referring to the “Voice in the Wilderness” and “heaven baking up something good for you,” but love that your respect for the scriptures remain steadfast and your willingness to draw out the vision of the gospel reaches in between the hard stuff and pulls out the prophet and teacher and makes the story alive for today’s preacher. On Thursday, I worry that I will parrot your voice, but it is just the grist for the mill that I need to allow the Holy Spirit to do her work in me.
Keep it up! You rock and are easily among the voices that need to be heard in a world that needs hope, love, peace, joy and Jesus!
Sending love and light,
