This is the story from the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Once when Guru Nanak Dev Ji was traveling, he reached a mountainous region with Bhai Mardana. When Bhai Mardana started to feel thirsty, Guru Ji asked him to go to a spring at the top of the mountain and seek help from Peer Vali Kandhari who lived there. When Bhai Mardana went there to seek help, Vali Kandhari declined to help them out. Then Guru Nanak Dev Ji made water appear from the barren mountainous land. Frustrated to see this, Vali Kandhari rolled down a big rock towards them but Guru Ji stopped this huge rock with his bare hand. This is where the Gurudwara Panja Sahib was built later on.
