Description
Curator Aman Mojadidi tells us about the concept of the exhibition “Qatra Qatra / Drop by Drop. Perspectives from Afghanistan”, conceived after the takeover of power by the Taliban in Afghanistan. The exhibition displays the works of 4 contemporary women artists of Afghan origin (Kubra Khademi, Hangama Amiri, Rada Akbar, and Lida Abdul) who left the country due to the limitations of freedom towards women, and also the work of a Latin American male artist (Mario Garcia Torres). The rich creative culture, that has always characterized Afghanistan, can be a way to fight against patriarchy. Contemporary art can be also an opportunity for the reappropriation of their own body and freedom, and a chance for rebirth for Afghanistan, drop by drop.
