They try... and mostly succeed
Tom is a true goofball, and a lovable one at times. His takes are normally solid, though his reacto-meter is prone to exploding at the simplest developments. If there’s an actual significant development that involves any loss of talent, Curran reacts as though the team has been sold and moved to Saint Louis while being stripped of its Super Bowl titles (case in point: his recent cataclysmic take on Josh Gordon being placed on IR). When Tom and partner Phil “the senator” Perry get their speculation pants on regarding the team’s future, make no mistake — the apocalypse is nigh. There are also a lot of off-topic tangents that can be frustrating because they are often of little informative value and the attempts to refocus can be minimal or nonexistent. The show is nonetheless a must listen for Pats fans because Tom’s a smart guy in general and a native New Englander who cares about the team. He was around for the first part of the dynasty so there are occasionally fun references to the ‘01-‘04 teams, including allusions to specific games and moments that are always great to reflect on. You will have a love/hate relationship with this podcast, but it’s worth checking out weekly.

More reviews of Tom Curran’s Patriots Talk Podcast
Not only does this podcast give the best Pats insight but it also gets me to purchase the delicious Papa Gino's pizza once a week. Keep up the great work.Read full review »

Curran spends too much time talking reviews, definitely no where near pfw in progress

I travel a lot for work, listening to the Quick Slants pod cast allows me to stay informed and entertained about Patriots hot topics regardless of where I go. Great balance of intelligent, interesting analysis and humor. Good thing your Pats analysis is better than your jump shot Curran.
