“I tried to like this podcast. I liked other PRA shows, but the glacial pace of Rabbits was difficult enough to overcome, and then ultimately, the unnecessarily shoehorned woke crap killed any enthusiasm.
First of all, there is a ton of exposition. This is usually OK if it’s followed by some action or, heck, ANYTHING exciting, but nope, it was followed by more exposition. When there was dialogue between two characters, sometimes the pauses between exchanges were preposterously long. I get it that the creators of this show were trying to set a mood, but, come on. And speaking of dialogue, how many times can I be expected to listen to a character say “What do you mean?”
And then every season mentions a man who has a husband, or woman who has a wife. Great, I get it, there are gay people in the world. Must this be shoehorned into EVERY season? Even with all this, I managed to make it through season one only to be disappointed with the ending. That was it? Well, I figured I’d give season two a shot until finally, right around episode three came a completely gratuitous shot at the Bible, and I was done. I’m not even a religious person, but I shouldn’t have to endure a podcast rather than enjoy it. Nothing about season one was interesting enough to put up with the glacial pace, woke crap, etc., so I threw in the towel during season two.
It’s a shame too, because I was looking forward to buying the Rabbits book, but no way I’m subjecting myself to that now.
I want to be entertained, not preached at. It’s like a group of smug Canadians went out of their way to shove their beliefs into the narrative in a way that doesn’t add to the story or move the plot along at all, but simply for the sake of doing it. There are a million podcasts out there and I don’t have to support this one.”
