“Season One was mostly fun. Season Two is grating. Our narrator Riley, along with many of the characters, comes across as deliberately dense, with a weirdly flat affect. It’s particularly annoying when she’s interacting with people caught in what’s supposed to be a terribly sinister Rabbits game. E.g., someone expresses worry about being killed? “Oh.” And the repetitive, half-baked, dispassionately delivered “well, the world could end” warnings don’t help the storytelling cause. To get through the second season, I started counting the number of times Riley said, “Oh” per episode, relieving the monotony of blankly delivered lines. I’ll finish S2, but good grief, folks - hire an experienced playwright. This is painful.”
