Thoughts From an American
I learned Spanish while living in Guatemala for 2 years as a student many years back. To me, Radio Ambulante is like the Spanish version of This American Life. I choose the episodes that I find most interesting, and often forget that I am learning. I find myself challenged with listening skills, culture, and vocabulary. I still have to look up words that I don’t know and replay parts here and there. But it is overall fun, engaging, and a productive use of my time. I would highly recommend it!

This is the best storytelling podcast in Spanish out there. The stories are interesting, fresh and very well crafted. Everyone out there should hear it. I highly recommend it.

So interesting, and excellent for coloquial Spanish from all over. I love it and listen to episodes over and over. And when I get stuck on a word, the Spanish language transcripts are a huge help.

As others have mentioned, this podcast is very similar to This American Life, but in Spanish, with a wider definition of what it means to be “American."Read full review »
