A Man of Firsts — Staying current by being a Toastmaster Edmore Gamundani (Human Resources Development Practitioner, Keynote Speaker, Executive Speech Coach and Author) tells Elizabeth Viljoen on Creating Culture of all the first things he experienced: • Although being the last Division Governor for the Pretoria/Zimbabwe Division (because the title changed to Division Director), he was the first District Governor from outside South Africa. • Thereafter he was the first Southern African Club Growth Director (because of the title change). • He was the first Member of District 74 Cabinet outside South Africa. • He was the first man of colour in the District 74 Trio (District Director, Programme Quality Director, Club Growth Director). He faced and overcame mental challenges, both mental and geographical. He says: 'You can only learn to swim by swimming. You can only learn to speak by speaking. And you can only learn to lead, by leading.'
