It’s free, delicious and just one way that FoodSmiles connects St Albans residents with the Community Supported Agriculture revolution. In Part 2, Janet shares with Andrei her secret ingredient for making a good soup and other hints for reducing food wastage at home. http://www.foodsmilesstalbans.org.uk Sensei Ruby Raut, informs listeners how the UK education sector is responsible for 13% of the UK’s annual non-domestic food waste and that here in St Albans, our schools waste in excess of 300 tons of food a year. Ruby tells us about her partnership with Sainsbury’s Waste Less, Save More in order to implement a program that provide tools for our schools and our children to reduce food waste. In Part 2, Ruby gives us some fantastic tips for reducing our own food waste at home, including taking a ‘shelfie’ or ‘fridgie’ before heading out to the supermarket, to avoid that pile up of cans of tuna in the cupboard. https://foodwasteninjas.wordpress.com Tune in to 92.6FM on line or on air Friday’s from Noon-2pm.
