Listen now
Description
The struggle is real when it comes to sitting down, opening a book and reading continuously for three hours. Studying is one big challenge for many students at any level. Knowing the right way to find some enthusiasm in some subjects doesn’t help.  On today's show, Professor Andrew Martin joins Dina to share his observations as a professor at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Andrew is also on the Psychology Board of Australia as a Registered Psychologist specializing in student motivation and engagement, with some insightful thoughts on how parents can support this. Following his focus, Andrew authored multiple publications, including one that can be used as a research guide on how parents can participate in the process. In this episode, Dina and Andrew talk about the process of studying at university and the types of autonomous motivation needed to get by. Dina shares her experiences with the university, including the positive transition into university life regarding having more autonomy.  To see more of Professor Andrew Martin’s work, have a look at his university page for his publications at https://www.unsw.edu.au/staff/andrew-martin  Produced by the Parenting Science Labs, a division of LMSL, the Life Management Science Labs.
