“The hosts are knowledgeable and have a great rapport with each other, making for a really fun and easy listen as well as an informative one. I’ve been listening for years and while the hosts have changed, the overall quality has remained high.
Now there are some drawbacks. You won’t hear constant breaks for ads and product placement like you would in every other wrestling podcast. Their voices aren’t horribly annoying or grating. It’s a nice atmosphere.
But what they lack in those areas they more than make up for in bad and cringe off-topic takes.
You have to have a stomach for (American) politics discussion, especially far left leaning ones. It didn’t use to be this bad but I guess as the hosts aged they became replyguys on Twitter and Facebook and that now bleeds into the show. And there’s no end in sight thanks to the highly politicized pandemic.
Politics aside, I find their off-topic takes on everything in the media, from movies to TV to video games, to be often terrible. Not that big of an issue but it’s consistently bad and the elaboration and discussion of these opinions often overtakes the wrestling portion of the show. I would trust these guys on wrestling 100%, and everything else maybe 5%.
I’ve given this show 5 stars retroactively and in finality for the time being. The last episode I listened to, ep.830, was probably the worst this show gets in terms of my personal grievances stated here and I don’t think it will improve much anytime soon, so I’m ending my listening here for now. But up until this point it’s been a really fantastic show and I’m happy for the years of content they’ve given to wrestling fans like myself. Wish them all the luck and success that I’m sure they will continue to achieve.”
