Minisode: Judith’s prayer to the God of the lowly.
Description
IN THIS EPISODE Judith asks God to save those without hope.
The Book of Judith tells how the Jewish people were delivered “by the hand of a female.” Before she confront her enemy, Judith turns to God, the source of her strength, in prayer and lament.
WRITING PROMPT Take a moment to think of those in your life who might be considered lowly, of little account, weak, or in despair. It could be a a friend who is newly single, a neighbor struggling to care for a sick child, a co-worker who appears to have it all but is without hope. Write down one simple act of kindness you can perform to show each of these acquaintances that your God can be their savior through your example. Send a text, a dinner invitation, cookies delivered to their home or just listen sympathetically to whatever they need to talk about. But don’t stop there: keep them in your prayers as Judith did.
Approaching God with Confidence
