Great first episode!
I was listening to Adam Ruins Everything which brought me to Sawbones which brought me to Reading Glasses. Score! 2 great new podcasts to add to my list. The hosts did a great job, were informative and polite, the episode was entertaining, had no meaningless digressions, and got me in the mood to read and write. How fitting that the first episode was about how to get rid of a reading slump. I had just gotten out of a 4 year reading slump with the book Slate House by David Mitchell which made me vow never (for a while anyways) to read horror stories and to start reading again. I also should tell you that the slump was brought on by being too busy studying and playing games to read books, rather than reading too few books. Great pilot episode!

The show's informative without being stodgy, fast paced without being frantic and contains that rarest of beasts; advice that's actually good. The article on how to get out of a reading slump in particular is fantastic. Smart, inclusive, enthusiastic and FUN. Pop culture needs this show.Read full review »

Do yourself a favor and listen to these two delightful women as they explore what can only be described as a deeply comforting, validating, and charming take on reading and reading culture
