Shamiesha shares her journey, highlighting the experiences that led her to build HERStory, Inc, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for BIPOC birthing families. She opens up about the lack of representation and resources for families of color in Orange County hospitals, the alarming rates of maternal mortality in the Black community, and how her organization is working to bridge these gaps.  This episode brings to light the critical role of equity and representation in healthcare, especially for birthing families of color.
