Disgusting retelling of a horrific crime.
I listen to a lot of true crime, and I’ve listened to hundreds of hard stories. I can handle serious and horrible crime stories and I’m no “snowflake” as he references to try to get away with his crassness. Never have I turned off a podcast episode before it was complete but I couldn’t continue. The first episode is of child rape, and the narrator, supposedly a retired law enforcement professional, used the most unprofessional and horrific language when referencing the child rapes in this episode. At first, he claimed it was the same language the victim used, despite him not quoting an actual written statement, but then he continues repeatedly to use this offensive, disgusting, re-victimizing language over and over again (example, referring repeatedly to the victim as having his d**k s**cked, and mind you, this is a small CHILD!). He refers to the rapes as “sex,” which it ISN’T, you moron! It’s rape. There’s a difference, and despite the area of the country you’re from, I would have expected as a police detective, you should know better. Shameful.

This podcast is easy to listen to. Woody’s voice is awesome and isn’t fake but not dull. I am so excited I have found this. The cases are very interesting and hold my attention.

Woody Overton is the real thing. With his unique perspective as an LEO and his personal knowledge of each case presented, makes both he and his podcast the best I've heard. I thought that the limited area he discusses would be confining to the amount of stories he could tell. It's...Read full review »
