“I am so pleased to hear JR back giving the listening public views on cinema and tv productions that are available for viewing. And as an awesome bonus we get a taste of honey Ross too. The combination works really well, which is a good job because the last time I landed on something that was tagged as explicit featuring a father and a daughter I needed counselling for 6 months. Jonathan shows why he is so highly regarded and Honey brings, not just a useful second voice, but also an intelligent angle from inside the industry delivered with an enthusiasm that is as sincere as it is infectious. It is somewhat inevitable that their personal backgrounds mean they often have the same tastes and passions in films, but this is totally forgivable, as it is a pleasure to hear these two spend 15 minutes celebrating what they have watched with such vim and vitality on a feature that I may otherwise not have considered watching. It is a movie podcast that doesn’t fall into the trap of sounding like so many of the plethora of film reviews elsewhere that fill each episode with the sounds of callously trashing the multiple months worth of artistic efforts from entire production crews while they plunder their over-thumbed copy of “The Sad Grumpy Man’s Thesaurus”. While I do not always agree with their findings, I find their opinions are very much worth listening to, enabling me to make a better informed decision on what I should do with my time and my eyeballs. If I was to offer just a teenie criticism, maybe reign in on the superlatives. I’m probably too modest in my expectations, but Perfect, Amazing and Genius are not as frequent in film and TV outputs as H+J may imply. But this is not enough to take away a star, so have 5, and forever bring more filmy goodness to my ears.”
