Good foundation, less hegemony, please
I love hearing from the therapists and experts they bring on— it’s actually inspiring me to pursue a degree in counseling! However, while there’s nothing wrong with the fact that Chase and Sarah are in a white, hetero, cis marriage, it means they need to put in extra effort to do their research about people and forms of love that are different. I loved the recent episode about gender roles and how it got at the power differentials that exist in intimate relationships, and I hope they continue to make more like that on topics of race, disability, and other differences of identity. I also hope they can take a leaf from their own book and stop talking in binaries regarding gender (e.g. “men tend to think ___, women tend to think _____”). Thanks, and keep up the good work!
